Girlschool (support act for Saxon)

Second opening act for Saxon was the not entirely unknown Girlschool. This so important NWOBHM band formed in London in the mid-seventies. I would say that Girlschool is still one of the most important bands that are inspirational and role models for other all-female rock groups in this otherwise male-dominated world. 

Today’s line-up features two original members Kim McAuliffe on vocals and guitar, Jackie Chambers also on guitar and their new bassist Olivia Airey with a not entirely unknown relative Don Airey. Behind the drums, filling in for Denise Dufort, we find Larry Paterson who also plays in Alcatrazz but has also played for Blaze Bayley and The Warning. Mr. Paterson has a nice style and groove and he seems to really enjoy himself during the set behind the drums.
